Louise Crichton: An Experienced, Professional Buying Agent

With a degree in Estate Management and a background in commercial property I set up Louise Crichton Property Search in March 1998 after a number of years as an estate agent in prime central London, working for Savills, Douglas & Gordon, Farrar & Co and Russell Simpson. During this time I saw the problems many buyers had trying to combine hectic work schedules and busy home lives with the demands of their time consuming, and often frustrating, property searches. The buying agency sector was in its infancy at the time and I decided to seize the opportunity to try self employment and build a business on the provision of a proactive and client driven service for buyers.

In the twenty six years since then I have acted for a diverse range of domestic and international clients seeking to buy property for owner occupation, investment and development. After specialising as a London buying agent for many years, growing client demand for help outside the capital resulted in the natural extension of my service offering in 2009 to include the country.  The pandemic era, combined with my personal preference for a new way of life, further sped up the pivot of my business model to now being country led. So whilst I retain valuable and effective London search and acquisition capabilities, the country is where the majority of my business activity is now focused.

My client base has been built primarily on by word of mouth referrals and personal recommendations and I have acted for numerous clients on more than one occasion. I also work with select private banks, wealth management companies, accountants, solicitors and interior designers providing property search and acquisition services to some of their private clients. In December 2018 I became a member of the Executive Board of the Association of Relocation Professionals (ARP) as the representative for Property Finders. I am a member of the ARP’s sub group for Buying Agents, known as the Association of Residential Property Finders.

Since 2020 I have been a Buying Agent member of The London Broker, an international business network for experienced, independent agents and cross sector real estate brokers.

I am based in Hampshire.

What is my approach?

  • My approach is first of all an attentive one, listening to your needs and taking time to understand your property requirements.
  • Whilst searching for property I am thorough and persistent with a proactive attitude, and strong, objective, reporting skills. I take a detailed approach to location and property assessment and price/value analysis and guidance.
  • I am professional but friendly and effective in my dealings with estate agents. I am respectful of their role though mindful of their varied tactics all of which I can deal with on your behalf.
  • An experienced negotiator I can help you keep sight of the bigger picture whilst applying know how and finesse to the finer details of any deal and negotiating the best price for you.
  • I proactively manage transactions and will seek to find solutions for you, creative ones if needed, to any problems that may arise.
